As
you already know, Acappella had been changed during his
history. Many faces had come, and many had gone,
but one thing still remains: the message.
This
page was developed to allow you to see a few pictures
and get some info about the different Acappella groups
through its existence. If you have a picture or info you
think we should put here, please send an email to newton@acappella.com.br.
Thanks a lot! Enjoy our page!
His Image - Before Acappella exists, the group
was called His Image. You can see Keith Lancaster right
in the center of this picture. The name of the other
singers, from left to right: I, Do, Not, Know. You'll
have to ask Keith!
1988 - This is the group who recorded the album Sweet Fellowship. From
left to right: Wayburn Dean (baritone), Gary Moyers(1st
tenor), George Pendergrass(2nd tenor/lead)0 and Rodney Britt
(bass).
1989 to 1993 - Duane Adams came to sing bass when Rodney
Britt left Acappella. This is the group who kept more
time together. Maybe that's the reason this is the group
more known in Brazil. They recorded many albums:
Growing Up In The Lord, Rescue, Set Me Free, We Have Seen His Glory. This
picture was taken when they were recording the video
"Everybody Said".
1993-1994 - Wayburn Dean left.
Then, Duane switched to baritone and Robert C. Guy
came to sing the bass. This group recorded the albums
Acappella en Espanol and Hymns For All The World.

1995 - In the beginning of 95, George Pendergrass
left. Then, Steve Reischl took his place. This group
recorded the album
Beyond A Doubt. In the picture, Robert Guy, Gary Moyers, Steve Reischl
and
Duane Adams are singing behind Keith Lancaster, in Belo Horizonte,
in 1995.
1995 - I am not sure if it is
1995, so, please, correct me if I am wrong. Gary Moyers
left, then Duane switched to 1st tenor. Robert C. Guy switched
to baritone and Tim Storms came to sing the bass. This
group sang together just for four months. Note: from the
four singers, three were basses! Unfortunately, they
didn't record any song together.

1996 - Tim Storms left. Duane started to sing bass
again, and came Schaffer came to join Acappella, singing
1st tenor. This group started to record the album Act of
God, which was released just in 1997.
1997 - When Robert C. Guy left, Gary Moyers
returned to Acappella, now singing as baritone. Now,
take a look at this rare shot of Acappella with those
singers! Kevin, Steve R., Gary Mo and Duane are at the
studio, practicing a song... what? You think it is a
fake shot? No way! :)
1997 - Duane Adams left, and Gary
Miller came to Acappella, singing the bass.
This was the group Acappella when Act Of God
was released.
1997 - Europe - Acappella went to Europe in a tour,
in 1997. Gary Miller didn't go, so they called Ken McAlpin
to sing with Aca. In the picture on the right, from up
to down, you can see the heads of: Gary Moyers, Steve Reischl,
Kevin Schaffer and Ken McAlpin. They are signing
autographs in Switzerland. .
1997 - Steve Reischl left. Then,
Gary Miller kept singing the bass, and Ken McAlpin sang
lead/2nd tenor for a while. This was the better picture
we got with these guys. Sorry, Ken!
1998 - 1999 - Gary Miller left. Barry Wilson
is the new face of Acappella. He came to sing lead/2nd
tenor, and Ken McAlpin switch to bass. This group
recorded the album All That I Need.
2000 - After many years on the road, Gary
Moyers retired. In his place, came Steve Maxwell.
This is the group that came to Brazil in 2000, visiting
6 Brazilian cities.
2001 - Ken McAlpin left, and the young Gary Evans Jr
is invited to be the new bass man of Acappella. The
album Hymns For All The Ages was released be this group.
